Fundraising Activations Intern (Social Media)

Job Title: Fundraising Activations Intern  Position Summary:   The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (“the Foundation”) is seeking top talent for its Fundraising Activations internship opportunity in our Fundraising Strategy & Operations department.  This intern will work directly with Fundraising Activation leads to support fundraising marketing, offering hands-on experience in social media strategy, cross-channel activation execution, and data tracking. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting Team Fox (“TF”), the Foundation’s grassroots fundraising community, and helping drive engagement for signature TF events like the nationwide Run/Walk series.  Preference will be given to students located in Eastern/Central/Mountain timezones.    Key Responsibilities:   Support team in social strategy development, execution, and monitoring of the TF social channel and external forums by contributing to a data-driven channel strategy, responding to community messages, and identifying storytelling opportunities. Manage comprehensive TF calendar in Sprout Social  Drive community growth and engagement by drafting high-impact copy and executing a storytelling-led strategy across TF’s social platforms  Develop social media toolkits for internal and external stakeholders  Partner with key stakeholders on content for external quarterly email updates for key donor audiences  Ensure accurate campaign attribution and performance visibility by maintaining creative asset trackers and overseeing Salesforce tracked links are implemented consistently with established best practices  Support logistical needs like tracking link creation and organization for all fundraising programs on the Foundation’s main social channel  Facilitate end-to-end email execution by applying templatized copy for local markets and coordinating with the communications team to align content with the organization’s priorities   Support the Direct Mail program (the Foundation’s printed mail fundraising campaigns), primarily by routing internal document reviews, management of creative and donation page trackers, and assist with detailed quality control checks  Support team productivity by managing cross-functional workflows in Asana and Jira platforms, creating essential activation assets like QR codes and vanity URLS    Internship project: Tiered Social Promotion   Develop a TF social channel promotion recommendation for TF events, tiering the level of social promotion by type of event, fundraising goal, etc.   Leverage competitive data and information to guide strategy and recommendation for how to best promote community stories and events on the TF social channel     Qualifications and Skills:   Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student  Must be available for 15-20 hours/week    Experience with fundraising copywriting and major social media platforms preferred  Excellent written and verbal communications skills reflecting precise attention to detail  Ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize initiatives accordingly  Creative, solutions-oriented with a proactive lens to problem solving  Compensation & Benefits Individual compensation for this role is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, skillsets, and applicable laws.  In addition to salary, the Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: 15+ options for medical insurance (with the Foundation paying 90 percent of the premiums)  Competitive dental and vision plans  401(k) plan with 6 percent employer contribution  Flexible spending accounts  Employer paid life and disability insurance   18 Vacation Days; 12 Well-Being (Sick) Days; 2 Personal Days; summer Fridays (office closure at 2pm) and a summer holiday week over July 4  Flexible work environment.  We trust all employees to work closely with their manager and colleagues to determine when, where and how programs and projects get done.    Employees are also eligible for a discretionary bonus on an annual basis.
