About Wellness Continuum
Wellness Continuum is a virtual functional medicine practice launching mid-to-late June, founded and led by a nurse practitioner with nearly 30 years of clinical experience. We do things differently — thorough initial visits, regular 30-minute follow-ups, and more frequent touch points than a traditional practice to make sure clients actually stay on track.
We primarily serve women ages 40–65 through a direct-to-consumer model that includes high-touch, comprehensive programs to support our patients on their journey back to wellness. Everything we do is grounded in root-cause thinking and a refreshingly real approach to medicine. Website to launch soon, this is the address: https://wellnesscontinuum.com/
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, licensed functional medicine nutritionist to join Wellness Continuum as a contractor. Applicants must hold a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential and be licensed in Maryland — beyond that, what matters is that you are trained in functional medicine and genuinely passionate about root-cause care.
This is a contract-only position — you will work as your own business entity, collaborating with our practice to deliver exceptional nutritional care to our clients. This role is ideal for someone already operating in the functional medicine space who is ready to be part of a growing, values-driven virtual practice.
What you'll do
• Conduct thorough virtual initial assessments and develop individualized, functional medicine-based nutrition plans
• Provide monthly visits to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed
• Collaborate with our nurse practitioner to provide integrated, whole-person care
• Support clients through food-as-medicine strategies, gut health, hormonal balance, inflammation reduction, and metabolic wellness
• Participate in group wellness programs and educational classes as appropriate
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with HIPAA and practice standards
• Stay current on functional nutrition research and evidence-based practices
Requirements
• Credential: Must hold a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential issued by the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (CBNS)
• Maryland licensure: Must hold a current, active license issued by the Maryland Board of Dietetics Practice; proof required prior to contracting
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in functional medicine nutrition (not general dietetics alone)
• Functional medicine training: Documented evidence of formal functional medicine training required — examples include IFM (Institute for Functional Medicine) certification or coursework, ADAPT-trained through Kresser Institute, or equivalent accredited program; please include certificates or transcripts with your application
• Professional liability insurance: Must carry your own professional liability (malpractice) insurance; proof of current coverage required
• LLC or business entity: Must operate under your own LLC or legally established business entity — this is a 1099 contractor role; no exceptions
• Technology: Comfortable working in a fully virtual environment; reliable internet, you will be required to see clients and chart in the EHR used by the practice.
• Alignment with a root-cause, client-partnership philosophy of care
Nice to have
• Background in group education, online courses, or wellness coaching
Compensation
Contract rate commensurate with experience. Details discussed during the interview process.
