Role Overview
Freelance Bookkeepers provide bookkeeping services to small businesses and individuals on a contract basis, managing accounts and financial records remotely. Bookkeeping certification and accounting software expertise are required.
Responsibilities
• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping operations while overseeing the ethical deployment of AI-driven accounting tools and ensuring compliance with the 2026 EU AI Act mandates for financial data processing.
• Bridge the gap between traditional ledger management and modern automated compliance frameworks to ensure financial health and regulatory standing of clients.
Team Structure
Part of the Distributed Finance Operations team, collaborating with AI Data Scientists and ESG Auditors.
Reporting
Reports to the Fractional CFO and Head of Compliance.
Working Conditions
Travel required:
5%. Standard business hours with high flexibility; occasional evening calls for international stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to maintain focus during extended periods of screen-based data analysis.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 100
Mbps).
Qualifications
Bookkeeping certification and accounting software expertise are required.
