Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Patient Advocate Representative to join our Patient Support Department as a key member of our call center operations. As a Patient Advocate Representative, you'll be responsible for delivering first-class customer service, resolving patient issues, and ensuring accurate and timely shipping of reorders. Responsibilities
As a Patient Advocate Representative, you'll be responsible for:
- Obtaining and processing authorizations for reorders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Resolving patient issues and ensuring accurate reorder processing via phone, document processing, and medical record validation.
- Ensuring patients have all required medical documentation to permit billing of services as assigned.
- Maximizing patient base through retention efforts and cross-selling via phone.
- Handling inbound and outbound calls from patients' physicians and referral sources to ensure patient satisfaction, troubleshoot new and existing patient concerns, add services, verify, and explain insurance coverage to patients.
- Auditing configuration of supplies based on supporting documentation, formulary requirements, and manufacturer capabilities.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of medical documentation, Insurance requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality always due to access to sensitive information.
- Maintaining regular, predictable, consistent attendance and being flexible to meet the needs of the department.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
- Proficient computer literacy, including strong keyboarding and the ability to key data accurately while maintaining strong listening skills.
- Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
- Exceptional phone and email etiquette.
- Position may require evening and weekend availability.
