**Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced and customer-focused Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Access Center, you'll be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating electronic health records, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. **Responsibilities**
As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
* Navigating electronic health records to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA.
* Managing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call, and leveraging critical thinking to identify reason for the call and take appropriate action.
* Scheduling patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifying and updating insurance, and collecting and documenting demographics.
* Maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions, and communicating directly with providers to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours.
* Managing calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and providing excellent and consistent customer service in a variety of situations.
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A High School Diploma or GED
* 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
* Proficiency in electronic health records and customer service software
* Strong typing skills (minimum speed 35 wpm, 90% accuracy)
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting
* Familiarity with electronic health records and customer service software
* Strong knowledge of insurance basics and appointment instructions
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
