**Job Description**
As a Part-Time Customer Support Specialist, you will be a member of our CT _rides_ project, providing an individualized, customized, and detailed Customer Service Experience. This role is responsible for managing the statewide transportation demand management (TDM) program and the customer service for CT _rail_ Shore Line East and Hartford Line for the Connecticut Department of Transportation. This is a weekend, shift position, with the Customer Service Center hours being 7am- 6pm Eastern Time.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide accurate, polite, and responsive telephone/email/web-based customer service support to commuters and stakeholders.
* Develop familiarity with transportation services in Connecticut, including rail, bus, and other modes of transportation.
* Multi-task across multiple web-based and printed sources to locate relevant transportation information and provide responses to in-bound telephone inquiries.
* Use Live Chat program to respond to customer inquiries online and monitor multiple email accounts to provide written responses to inquiries.
* Compile and issue time-sensitive service alerts via multiple communication channels, including social media and email.
* Create and provide customized commute plans based on an individual's travel needs and conduct outbound follow-up calls to provide a second level of customer service.
* Perform administrative tasks to support outreach and marketing teams, including data entry and reporting.
* Communicate with transportation providers to gather and update route/schedule services and utilize CMS and other computer programs and office equipment to accomplish assigned tasks.
**Qualifications:**
* Minimum Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
* Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous customer service experience, preferably in a transportation or related field.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office or Gsuite products.
**Additional Information:**
* This is a weekend, shift position, with the Customer Service Center hours being 7am- 6pm Eastern Time.
* The position requires a two-week training program on weekdays, and applicants must be available to attend.
* The position is primarily remote, but there are times when applicants will need to be in the office for required training and meetings.
* Sponsorship is not available for this position, and relocation assistance is not available.
**Compensation and Benefits:**
* Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications, with an expected range of $19.57/hour - $34.24/hour.
