**Job Summary:**
As a Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for accurately processing and entering patient information, medication orders, and insurance claims into our computer system. You'll work closely with our team to ensure seamless communication with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Accurately read, interpret, and enter patient information, medication orders, and insurance claims into our computer system
* Verify and validate patient information, medication orders, and insurance claims to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Contact healthcare providers and insurance companies to confirm patient information, medication orders, and insurance claims
* Respond to patient calls to arrange and manage new prescription orders and reorders, including verifying and confirming benefits
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information, medication orders, and insurance claims
* Collaborate with our team to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to patient information, medication orders, and insurance claims
* Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices
**Essential Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
* 6 months of experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
* 6 months of experience working with Windows-Based applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
* Strong keyboarding skills and ability to sit or stand for extended periods (8-10 hours)
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* 6 months of experience working as a pharmacy technician
* 90 days of experience handling and resolving customer needs via telephone
* Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of benefits, insurance, and medications
* Experience with clinical charging, coding, and other clinical support roles
* Experience working in a customer service environment, with a focus on patient satisfaction and care
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
* Proficiency in data entry software and systems, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
