**Key Responsibilities:**
* Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and customer service business owners to design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines that support customer service operations
* Transform raw data into core business metrics, using advanced data modeling skills and expertise in big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink)
* Develop custom visualization tools that surface critical customer service insights, using Python or Scala and passion for writing clean, supportable code
* Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize business problems, develop metrics, and drive data-driven decision-making
* Advocate for data quality and ensure that data pipelines are designed with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind
* Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including analysts, engineers, and business leaders
**Essential Qualifications:**
* At least 4 years of experience engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink) on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
* Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design structures that are adaptable to changes in the source data or business processes
* Advanced SQL skills, with a strong focus on data quality and advocacy
* Analytical aptitude, with the ability to think through business problems and prioritize autonomously
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
* Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
* Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts, with experience in applying these techniques to real-world problems
* Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
* Strong passion for writing clean, supportable code, with a focus on code quality and maintainability

**Compensation and Benefits:**
* Annual salary range: $170,000 - $720,000
