**Job Summary**
The Data Entry Clerk for Revenue Cycle is responsible for accurately inputting and managing data related to patient billing, payments, and insurance claims. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, proficiency in data management systems, and knowledge of healthcare billing processes. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will work closely with our billing and coding teams to ensure accurate claims submission and timely payment collection.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Accurately enter patient information, billing details, and insurance data into the electronic practice management system.
- Update and maintain records of patient interactions, payments, and adjustments in the system.
- Verify and correct discrepancies in patient billing and demographic information to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the processing of insurance claims, including verifying patient coverage, entering claim information, releasing claims to the clearing house, and follow up on pending claims.
- Coordinate with billing and coding teams to ensure all necessary information is included for accurate claims submission.
- Support the collections process by entering payment data and assisting in the resolution of outstanding balances.
- Regularly review data entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Identify and report any inconsistencies or errors in the data entry process to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor.
- Participate in audits and quality control checks to maintain high standards of data accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as patient registration, coding, and finance to streamline data flow and improve the efficiency of the revenue cycle.
- Respond to inquiries from internal staff regarding billing information.
- Ensure all data entry activities comply with healthcare regulations, including patient privacy and data security standards.
- Handle sensitive patient information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

**Minimum Education and Experience Required**
- High School diploma or equivalent
**Preferred Education and Experience**
- Certification in medical billing, coding, or data entry
- Previous experience in data entry
- Familiarity with revenue cycle management is a plus
