**Key Responsibilities:**
As an Experienced Customer Service/Sales Representative, you will be responsible for:
* Providing fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs, and recommending solutions to meet their requirements
* Learning about products and services using our tools and resources, and providing information to customers to drive sales
* Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department, as well as handling basics in adjacent departments
* Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
* Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
* Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments
* Participating in sales initiatives and promotions to drive sales growth and meet sales targets
* Building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues to drive business growth and customer satisfaction
**Essential Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
* 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences
* Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash, operating a cash register, and processing transactions
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the store
* Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or sales environment
* Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen and bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
* Familiarity with sales software and technology, including CRM systems and point-of-sale systems
* Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve customer complaints
