We're looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our growing team in Maine. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our clients, resolving their questions, complaints, and requests in a timely and courteous manner.
**Job Summary and Responsibilities:**
The purpose of this position is to answer incoming telephone calls, and resolve customer questions, complaints, and requests while adhering to internal policies and procedures. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
* Developing and maintaining working knowledge of internal policies, procedures, and available services to provide accurate information and assistance
* Utilizing automated systems to log and retrieve information; perform accurate and timely data entry
* Receiving inquiries by telephone, email, fax, or mail and communicating responses within required turnaround times
* Responding to telephone inquiries in a prompt, accurate, and courteous manner
* Interacting with external partners such as hospitals, physicians, beneficiaries, or other program recipients
* Performing verification of healthcare services to facilitate payment for received services
* Identifying medical claims meeting CPT/DRG audit criteria and submitting the necessary billing data
* Serving as liaison between the internal and external partners
* Investigating and resolving or reporting provider problems
* Meeting or exceeding standards for call volume and service level per department guidelines
* Initiating cases by collecting and entering demographic, provider, and procedure information into the system
* Completing daily, monthly, and quarterly reports necessary for clinical team operations
* Reading, understanding, and adhering to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules
**Qualifications:**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Minimum of two years of customer service experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
* Basic computer skills and knowledge of automated systems
* Familiarity with medical terminology and the health insurance industry
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Residence in the state of Maine
* Medical terminology course(s)
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Knowledge of the health insurance industry including policies and claims assessment processes
* Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills to provide exceptional customer service
* Bilingual in Spanish and English
* Prior scheduling work experience
