**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Birmingham, AL. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, resolving complex issues, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, and you will be responsible for resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Answer inbound customer service calls and execute outbound follow-up calls in a professional, patient experience, and customer service-oriented manner.
* Answer calls timely without drops/abandons.
* Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems with a focus on first call resolution.
* Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert.
* Escalate the matter to a supervisor, request the appropriate information, or take appropriate action so that the issue expert can effectively resolve the matter.
* Resubmit Corrected Claims and supporting documentation as needed for the patient experience.
* Communicate issues to management timely and perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisors.
* Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
**Requirements**
* High school diploma or GED
* 0-2 years of prior relevant experience
* Advanced computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, PC applications, and math/bookkeeping skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
* 1-3 years related or general knowledge of payor-specific or medical specialty billing
* Dialer experience within a call center type environment
* Bilingual (English/Spanish)
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
