**Job Summary**
As a Crisis Chat Text Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall functioning of the 988 Crisis Chat Program, including individual supervision of Crisis Chat Counselors. You will provide emotional support to individuals in crisis, intervene in crisis situations, and connect them with necessary resources. You will also be responsible for monitoring chats and texts, ensuring quality assurance, and providing training to new Crisis Chat Counselors.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provides individual supervision to Crisis Chat Counselors, ensuring they are equipped to handle crisis situations effectively
* Conducts risk assessments, safety planning, and de-escalation techniques to support chat/text visitors
* Builds positive rapport with chat/text visitors, providing emotional support and connecting them with necessary resources
* Responds to crisis chat/text visitors as needed to support Counselors on shift
* Ensures thorough documentation is completed for all crisis chat/text interactions
* Monitors chats and texts to ensure quality assurance, with a minimum of 75% quality evaluation score
* Conducts weekly individual supervision sessions with Counselors and completes weekly quality assurance reports
* Provides training to new Crisis Chat Counselors and completes monthly Lifeline/Vibrant QA/QI reports
* Meets with Assistant Director of Crisis Services regularly to discuss program operations, concerns, and potential improvements
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree in any Counseling field or Social Work preferred
* 1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention services, suicide prevention, and intervention
* Computer skills with various software, including Microsoft Products
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to function successfully in an environment requiring immediate response to urgent situations
* Spontaneous supervision of staff in real-time
* Knowledge of and familiarity with local and statewide community resources
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Master's Degree in any Counseling field or Social Work
* 2+ years of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention services, suicide prevention, and intervention
* Experience with crisis chat/text services and quality assurance
* Familiarity with local and statewide community resources
