Experienced 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist – Remote Mental Health Crisis Prevention and Intervention

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and we're dedicated to fostering a workplace that celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our employees. **Job Summary** As a 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist, you'll be part of a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team, handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL). You'll provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset, including crisis intervention, service linkage, and referrals for programs, services, and community resources. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments for individuals experiencing emotional distress * Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources * Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide * Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation * Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings * Assist in administrative tasks as needed **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field * Six months to one year of related crisis experience * Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification (or willingness to obtain) * Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, service linkage, and referrals for programs, services, and community resources * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field * Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and trauma * Knowledge of trauma-informed care and trauma-sensitive practices * Bilingual or multilingual skills **Skills and Competencies** * Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods * Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette * Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information **Work Environment and Culture** As a remote employee, you'll enjoy the flexibility and autonomy to work from the comfort of your own home.
