Position Overview:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will serve as the visionary leader driving Mothers to Daughters into its next phase of global growth. This role requires a dynamic blend of strategic leadership and hands-on operational expertise to expand the organization’s impact, strengthen mentorship programs, grow the volunteer network, and ensure the successful execution of M2D’s mission. The Executive Director will begin by developing a deep understanding of the organization’s fieldwork, core programs, operations, and strategic business plans to lead with insight and purpose. As part of our dynamic and mission-driven team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization and advancing our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Set organizational strategy and drive execution of M2D's mission and goals
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and community leaders
Represent M2D at high-level events and in media opportunities
Lead innovation in mentorship program design and implementation
Fundraising & Development
Create and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy
Cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners
Oversee grant writing and reporting processes
Develop sustainable revenue streams through program expansion
Operations & Program Management
Oversee daily operations, including program delivery and evaluation
Manage budget and financial planning
Develop and implement policies and procedures
Drive continuous improvement of mentorship programs
Track and report program metrics and outcomes
Volunteer & Staff Management
Build and lead high-performing teams of staff and volunteers
Develop volunteer recruitment and retention strategies
Create training and development programs for mentors
Foster a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture
Qualifications and Skills:
Required
10+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit or relevant sectors
Proven track record in fundraising and donor relations
Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships
Strong financial management and budgeting skills
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
Demonstrated commitment to women's empowerment and mentorship
Desired
Experience with intergenerational programs
Background in leadership development
Knowledge of impact measurement and evaluation
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Experience with volunteer management systems
Commitment:
Serve at the organization for 1 year.
Ability to meet and collaborate weekly via Zoom, Google Drive, Microsoft and Slack with the team.
Ability to attend monthly Team All Hands via Zoom.
Approximate time commitment: 5 Hours/Week
