Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Equipment Maintenance & Field Service Manager to oversee all aspects of PV module manufacturing equipment maintenance, field service operations, and team leadership within the Texas and Southwest region. This role is critical to ensuring maximum equipment uptime, optimizing production efficiency, and delivering exceptional on-site service support to our customers across the state. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in solar manufacturing equipment, automated production line maintenance, and a proven track record of leading field service teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage a team of field service technicians to provide timely and high-quality solar manufacturing equipment service and photovoltaic equipment maintenance at customer sites across Texas (including Austin, Dallas, Houston areas) and the Southwest region. • Oversee the maintenance and service of PV module manufacturing equipment and solar module production lines, including key equipment such as Stringer, Layup, Laminator, and EL Tester. • Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs to minimize equipment downtime, improve equipment uptime, and enhance OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) and yield improvement for customer manufacturing operations. • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures, troubleshoot complex issues related to automation equipment, PLC, and HMI, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. • Provide 24/7 production support for customers in factory, manufacturing plant, and fab environment settings, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and managing customer escalations effectively. • Manage spare parts management processes, including inventory control, replenishment, and allocation to support field service operations and minimize service delays. • Support greenfield factory startup projects for customers, providing equipment maintenance and field service guidance to ensure smooth ramp-up of high-volume manufacturing operations. • Drive installed base support initiatives, build strong customer relationships, and identify opportunities to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction. • Manage regional travel within Texas and the Southwest, coordinating field service schedules to ensure efficient coverage of customer sites across the territory. • Ensure all field service activities comply with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations in a manufacturing environment. Required Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or equivalent technical degree. • Progressive experience in PV module manufacturing equipment maintenance and field service management, preferably in the solar industry. • Proven experience with solar module production line equipment, including Stringer, Layup, Laminator, EL Tester, and automated production line maintenance. • Strong expertise in preventive maintenance (PM), root cause analysis (RCA), equipment uptime optimization, and OEE improvement. • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a field service team, with a focus on SLA management, customer escalation management, and team development. • Familiarity with automation equipment, PLC, HMI, and troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment issues. • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing and 24/7 production support in a factory or fab environment. • Ability to travel frequently within Texas and the Southwest region to customer sites (valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed). • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders. • Experience withspare parts management and installed base support is highly preferred. • Familiarity with the U.S. solar manufacturing market, particularly in Texas, and IRA-driven domestic solar manufacturing trends is a plus. Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience supporting greenfield factory startup in the PV module manufacturing industry. • Certifications in equipment maintenance, automation, or related fields. • Experience working in a Texas-based role with regional travel across the Southwest.
