Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Provides expert advice and consultation to stakeholders for implementing hazard controls, safety training, compliance to local, state, federal, and company/client standards, and other relevant topics. • Conducts incident and injury investigations, risk assessments, audits, walkthroughs, and inspections. • Develop action plans based on investigations, assessments, audits, walkthroughs to drive continuous improvement in areas of opportunities and close compliance gaps. • Engage, motivate, influence, and be able to align at all levels, implementing EHS strategies to reduce incidents, drive compliance and align the safety culture across the segment to meet Amerit values. • Work with the operational teams to improve safety enhancements that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards. • Facilitate implementation of continuous improvement and compliance assurance programs to ensure that sites comply with applicable regulatory/client/Company requirements and are always “inspection ready”. • Coaches and mentors field management teams on EHS matters, encouraging continuous improvement. • Supports facilities in the timely reporting of EHS matters to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies. • Identifies best practices and strategically integrates and implements them into segment specfic EHS plans. • Analyzes EHS metrics, communicating and implementing action plans to address trends. • Responds and provides real time assistance in emergency situations. Key Competencies and Minimum Education • Minimum 5 years in an EHS role. • Significant knowledge, expertise, and experience in EHS and demonstrated ability to integrate EHS into broader business and operations processes. • Deeply understand business and operational strategies and objectives and apply and align them with EHS strategies and objectives in order to develop integrated solutions and win as one team. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are required. Must be able adjust communication styles and approaches to different situations and audiences. • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, collaborative leadership style are required to influence and effectively work with team members at all levels throughout the company. Must be able to foster constructive dialogue, build consensus, and address conflicting views. • Preferred Environmental Health Specialist (EHS) Professional certification or a bachelor’s degree. • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
