Role Summary
We are seeking a Software Delivery Leader with deep Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance expertise to lead the delivery of complex, large-scale technology initiatives across policy, billing, claims, underwriting, and distribution ecosystems.
This leader will be accountable for end-to-end delivery across global onshore/offshore teams, ensuring predictable, high-quality outcomes while driving modernization of heritage P&C platforms and embedding AI-enabled productivity and innovation into the software delivery lifecycle.
The role requires a balance of delivery discipline, domain depth, and modern engineering leadership, with a strong focus on operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and business outcome alignment in the P&C environment.
Key Responsibilities
1) End-to-End Delivery Leadership (P&C Portfolio)
Own delivery across a portfolio of P&C programs and products, including:Policy Administration
Billing / Collections
Claims and Litigation
Underwriting and Rating
Distribution / Agent Systems
Ensure delivery meets commitments for scope, schedule, quality, cost, and risk, acting as the single point of accountability for delivery performance.
2) P&C Core System Modernization
Lead transformation of heritage P&C platforms (e.g., policy, claims, billing) to modern, scalable architectures.
Drive strategies for:Core system consolidation / decommissioning
API enablement and ecosystem integration
Cloud migration and microservices adoption
Ensure minimal disruption to business continuity and regulatory obligations during modernization.
3) Global Delivery Model (Onshore + Offshore)
Lead distributed delivery across onshore client-facing teams and offshore COEs, ensuring seamless execution across time zones and cultures.
Establish clear:Roles and responsibilities
Delivery ownership model (account vs. project vs. COE)
Escalation paths and accountability structures
Optimize workforce mix for cost, quality, and scalability while maintaining strong governance.
4) Delivery Discipline, Governance & Metrics
Implement a rigorous delivery model including:Program governance, RAID management, dependency control
Release management and environment discipline
Financial and contractual adherence
Drive performance improvement using objective delivery metrics, balancing:Speed of change
Production stability
Embed standardized delivery practices and global tooling across teams.
5) Claims, Operations & Production Reliability Focus
Ensure delivery supports mission-critical P&C operations, including claims processing, catastrophe events, and high-volume transaction cycles.
Lead readiness for:Peak events (e.g., CAT surges)
Regulatory reporting cycles
High availability and business continuity requirements
Drive strong incident management, root cause analysis, and recovery discipline.
6) AI-Enabled Delivery and Insurance Innovation
Leverage AI to improve both engineering productivity and insurance operations, including:AI-assisted development, testing, and defect prediction
Automation of claims workflows and underwriting decision support
Intelligent backlog prioritization and delivery optimization
Align AI initiatives with real business value such as:Reduced cycle times
Improved loss ratio insights
Enhanced customer/agent experience
7) Stakeholder & Client Leadership
Act as the trusted delivery leader for business, product, and IT stakeholders.
Translate complex delivery challenges into clear, actionable executive insights.
Manage expectations across stakeholders including:CIO / CTO organizations
Claims and underwriting leadership
External partners and vendors
8) Financial & Commercial Accountability
Own delivery financial performance including:Budget adherence
Margin optimization
Cost-to-serve reduction
Drive standardization, reuse, and industrialization of delivery to improve scalability and profitability.
Required Qualifications
12+ years of experience in software delivery, including 5+ years leading large P&C delivery portfolios
Deep expertise in P&C insurance processes and systems, including policy, claims, billing, and underwriting
Proven leadership of onshore/offshore global delivery models
Demonstrated track record delivering:Core system modernization
Large transformation programs
Managed services and/or product delivery
Strong experience in Agile, DevOps, and enterprise-scale delivery governance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with leading P&C platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, DXC Assure, or similar ecosystems)
Experience in catastrophe readiness, claims surge operations, or high-scale transaction systems
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements across US P&C markets
Experience implementing AI-enabled SDLC and insurance use cases
Other Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in a related field is a plus
• Relevant certifications or training a plus
