Hey, I’m Matt, founder of Honest Aux. We use shorts/reels to market businesses in a realistic way. We focus on showing people at work, authentic social moments, customer testimonials, and Q&A sessions with employees. We focus on very human moments so clients can showcase their brand story in a relatable way and build genuine relationships instead of obsessing over using ai and putting out unrelatable and unnatural content as a result. I need a skilled editor who excels at crafting narratives and is deeply familiar with YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok best practices. Understanding SEO-optimized titles, visually engaging edits, and thumbnail strategies is a big part of this editing strategy. This is organically filmed, human-edited original content.
What You’ll Do
Long-Form Storytelling:
Transform 30–60 minutes of footage (B-roll of teams working, sit-down interviews, comedy bits, customer Q&As) into a cohesive story with smooth cuts, color grading, sound mixing, branded intros/outros, motion graphics, and end-screen elements.
Targeted Short-Form Content:
Pull 10–45 second highlight reels optimized for YouTube Shorts and social channels. These batches can be 10-50 short form pieces spotlighting authentic reactions, customer insights, comedy shorts, and staff Q&As. Batches have dynamic pacing, captions, and simple motion graphics.
Brand Immersion:
Review client materials (brand guidelines, style docs, past campaigns) to ensure every edit reflects each company’s unique voice and values.
Organized Delivery:
Maintain clear folder structures and file names; provide YouTube-ready exports and formats for all social platforms.
Long-Term Partnership:
Hourly rate billing for consistent projects, with the goal of building a lasting relationship and scaling our collaboration.
Who You Are
Experienced: 2+ years editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci, or Final Cut. Descript experience is a huge plus.
Platform Savvy: Solid understanding of YouTube and Facebook’s content algorithms, SEO tactics, and viewer engagement strategies.
Storyteller: Skilled at weaving interviews and workplace B-roll into compelling brand narratives.
Detail-Oriented: An eye for brand consistency: fonts, colors, tone, pacing, and graphic treatments. Understanding clean vs low budget “look”
Portfolio: Demonstrated work on both long-form brand stories and platform-optimized short clips (B2B focus preferred).
Collaborative Communicator: Comfortable iterating with me on revisions and leading short brand-brief calls.
Ongoing Role: ~5–15 hrs/month to start, with room to grow as we add clients.
