Create a nonprofit organization

Apply for this Role →
I am launching a new nonprofit organization called Areivim, with the tagline “Where You Belong.” Areivim is inspired by the phrase “Kol Yisrael areivim zeh lazeh,” the idea that all Jews are responsible for one another. The organization will create warm, accessible, nonjudgmental spaces for Jews seeking connection, meaning, belonging, and a deeper relationship with Jewish life and the Jewish People. I am looking for an experienced nonprofit consultant, attorney, CPA, or formation specialist to help guide and support the launch of the organization. The project may include assistance with: Forming a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation
Drafting Articles of Incorporation with appropriate 501(c)(3) language
Drafting bylaws and basic governance documents
Creating conflict-of-interest and board policies
Preparing initial board resolutions/minutes
Advising on board structure and founder compensation issues
Helping obtain an EIN
Preparing or advising on IRS Form 1023 or 1023-EZ
Guiding California charitable registration and state compliance
Advising on accounting setup, donation tracking, and annual filing requirements
Helping create a basic launch checklist and timeline The ideal person has specific experience forming California nonprofits and helping organizations apply for 501(c)(3) recognition. Experience with religious, educational, community-building, or Jewish nonprofit organizations is a plus. Please include your relevant experience, whether you are an attorney/CPA/nonprofit consultant, examples of similar organizations you have helped form, what is included in your service, your estimated timeline, and your fee.
