Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Contract Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment plans.
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to ensure client safety during emergencies.
• Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating patient care principles, social work practices, and medical terminology to support recovery goals.
• Document all clinical interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and data security.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Engage in clinical research activities when applicable, contributing to data collection efforts that enhance treatment outcomes and service quality.
Requirements
• Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related mental health field from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure or certification as a licensed clinical counselor, therapist, or social worker in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities, geriatrics or in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health interventions including trauma-informed care for PTSD patients and addiction counseling techniques.
• Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
• Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients through motivational interviewing and culturally sensitive approaches.
