CONSULTANT’s NAME: Murhula Mwambali Bienfait JOB TITLE: Data Analyst TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular Consultant Level I- working remotely UNIT/DIVISION: Global Media, COMM DUTY STATION (City, Country): HQ, Rome Italy DURATION: EOD: 26 May 2026 – NTE: 31 December 2026 BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The Monitoring & Analysis Team has formalised its deliverables into two categories of responsibility for 2022 onwards. Firstly, to advance M&E principles & capabilities throughout the COM network (and cross- pollinate with neighbouring divisions/offices) and secondly to provide advisory reports for COM Rome HQ teams. As such the team requires a Data Analyst to support in the delivery on these responsibilities.   ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervisor of the Deputy Head of Global Media and with general guidance from the Deputy Director, the Data Analyst will be responsible for the following key duties: • Own the construction of COM division consolidatory AMEC reports liaising with individual COM teams to collect and contextualise data, focussing write-ups on “the why” i.e. insight on why the data is behaving the way it is rather than commentary on what the data is doing; • Own the construction of the monthly narrative report and emergency QuickReports focussing write-ups on “the why”; • Be the M&E team’s custodian of thorough analysis, focussing exploration and subsequent write-ups on action orientated recommendations; • Regularly contribute to meetings with M&E reps and to showcase and explain results; • Field day-to-day questions from COM teams in HQ, Regional Offices and Global Offices on AMEC principles and Brandwatch implantation; • Be responsible for COM unit data stream management (i.e. Brandwatch, Google Analytics, PowerBI/Tableau, social media APIs, TV Eyes, Teletrax and any new found data sources in the contract period) exploring enhanced management of them where necessary; • Adhere to the M&E team priorities laid out by the Strategic Planning Lead. DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: • Produced Monthly Narrative Reports for all months (delivering within 10 days of each new month and presenting to COM groups when requested) as well as implementing any changes to the analysis methodology in Brandwatch to maintain this reports relevancy; • Taken full management of Quick Reports, planning for which upcoming activity will require such reports and delivering them in collaboration with M&E colleague Media Analyst; • Developed Ukraine or Afghanistan country office local analysis which demonstrates COM teams acting upon social mentions published by affected populations found in Brandwatch; • Completion of the Brandwatch Foundation Certificate; • Held Brandwatch training sessions for Regional Bureau(s) as needed; • Enhanced WFP’s Brandwatch category configuration original new category Boolean query as needed; • Enhanced WFP COM operations with at least one example of changes to press, broadcast, editorial or social content as a direct result of your analysis/findings; • Conception of a dedicated report for the Emergency (Video News Release) team in COM which assists them in analysing the effectiveness of VNR content.   QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Data Science, Analytics, or a relevant field. Experience: At least (3) years of professional experience particularly in analysis. Knowledge & skills • Experience in exploring data and translating findings into coherent written insights with reasoning and recommendations; • Strong communications and writing skills; • Ability to work selflessly in a team environment and work toward the common good of a collective; • An understanding of Boolean query construction; • Strong Microsoft excel experience (macros, plugins, formulae, and pivots); • An understanding of web analytics platforms like Google analytics or Adobe and social listening tools like Brandwatch; • Experience in presenting insight to senior personnel; • Ability to multi-task and function effectively in a fast-paced environment; • Ability to produce materials at speed, targeted to meet the needs of different internal audiences; • Ability to function when workstream priorities change at pace; • Ability to follow instruction from supervisor and Head of Unit; • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization as well as different cultures; • Previous experience in the areas of marketing, international relations, communications, or advocacy would be advantageous. Languages: Fluency in oral and written in English. An intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is a plus.
