Construction Accounting Manager- Remote for DFW area Applicants ONLY

About the position This is a remote position. Our client is a growing specialty construction company seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and partnering closely with ownership in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities • Own day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks Online • Manage job and project costing, ensuring accurate tracking of labor, materials, and margins • Oversee monthly close, financial statements, and management reporting • Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections • Work with outside CPA for Tax Purposes • Manage payroll and payroll-related reporting (ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems) • Ensure compliance with GAAP and support external accountants as needed • Improve and document accounting processes as the company continues to grow • Provide financial insights to help leadership make informed business decisions Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or project-based environments • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online • Proven experience with job/project costing • Payroll system experience (ADP, Paylocity, or similar) • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the full accounting function Nice-to-haves • CPA is a plus, but not required Benefits • Remote position (must be located in the Dallas–Fort Worth area) • High-visibility role working directly with ownership • Opportunity to build and scale accounting processes in a growing business • Stable company with long-term upside
