Project Description: We are looking for a talented and sensitive children's book illustrator to bring a meaningful story to life. The book is aimed at children aged 5 to 7 and explores the themes of dual nationality, multicultural families (parents from two different countries), and the emotional journey of a child wondering: "Which country should I prefer? Which language is better?" The ultimate message is one of harmony, identity, and love.
We are looking for a specific artistic direction inspired by the famous Polish children's book series "PUCIO" (illustrated by Joanna Kłos).
Artistic & Style Guidelines:
Style: Minimalist, soft, and modern vector or digital hand-drawn style. Clean lines but with a warm, organic feel.
Characters: Highly expressive but simple. Characters should convey deep emotions (wonder, doubt, joy, comfort) through subtle facial expressions and postures.
Color Palette: Soft, cozy, and intentional. Not overly bright or saturated, but warm and inviting (earthy tones, pastel accents).
Composition: Clear, uncluttered backgrounds so young readers can focus on the characters and the emotional core of the scene.
Scope of Work:
Character design (Main child character + two parents).
Around [Insert Number, e.g., 15-20] full-page or double-page spreads.
Front and back cover design.
Deliverables in high-resolution, layered formats (PSD or AI) ready for print.
Requirements:
Proven experience in children’s book illustration (please provide a link to your portfolio).
Ability to capture a "Pucio-like" aesthetic (minimalist, textured, warm).
Good communication skills and openness to feedback.
