Business Development Leader – Generation, Energy Management

Job Description: • Lead strategic growth efforts across the Generation & Energy Management market, strengthening CHA’s visibility and competitive position • Develop and execute targeted sales strategies aligned with organizational business goals • Identify, pursue, and cultivate new business opportunities across Municipalities, Universities, Schools, and Hospitals (MUSH), Utilities, Federal, and Aviation sectors • Manage client database (CRM), generate leads, and follow up to maintain a robust opportunity pipeline • Develop compelling content for social media, proposals, conferences, and marketing campaigns • Represent CHA at industry conferences and maintain a strong network of industry connections, fostering relationships with executives, engineering leaders, and decision-makers • Collaborate with leadership teams to support proposal development and strategic pursuit decisions • Provide market updates, sales forecasts, and strategic insights to senior leadership Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering consulting, business development, sales, or a related role within the MUSH, Utilities, Federal and Aviation markets required • Expert understanding of State and/or Utility energy efficiency programs and renewable energy initiatives • Experience working with engineering firms, contract manufacturers, or renewables solutions providers • Proven experience writing and leading proposals to meet client expectations • Strong industry network and active involvement in professional conferences and market associations • Exceptional communication skills—persuasive, engaging, and effective across all audiences • Ability to translate technical concepts into compelling business value for clients • Strong analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to identify trends and shape market approaches • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, securing long-term contracts, and expanding market share • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and balance multiple priorities • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and advancing CHA’s vision • Ability to inspire, motivate, and build relationships across the company, including with C-suite executives, procurement teams, and engineering leaders • Willingness to travel extensively across the Northeast required Benefits: • Join a mission-driven organization committed to sustainability, innovation, and community impact • Work alongside passionate technical experts and forward-thinking leaders • Contribute to solutions that improve our world—cleaner energy, resilient systems, and sustainable infrastructure
