We're hiring a senior B2B SaaS marketing strategist for a short, scope-bounded advisory engagement. This is not an execution role — we have the in-house capabilities to build pages, write posts, and implement SEO changes.
What we need is the direction: positioning, ICP focus, content pillars, keyword strategy, and a 90-day roadmap that tells us exactly what to ship and to whom. You spend 5–10 hours over 2–3 weeks. We get a strategy we can execute against for the next quarter. Deliverables A written strategy document (5–10 pages, tight) covering:
ICP refinement — which buyer personas to prioritize, and which to deprioritize for now
Positioning and messaging pillars — 3–5 core themes our content should consistently reinforce
Keyword strategy — the priority keyword clusters to build content around, with reasoning
LinkedIn voice and content angles — what will resonate with our ICP, plus 3–5 example post angles A 90-day execution roadmap — week by week, what to ship and in what order
Plus one 2-hour discovery call at the start and one 1-hour review call at the end. We execute. You will not be asked to write blog posts, design pages, or schedule content. You're a good fit if you
Are a senior B2B SaaS marketer or fractional CMO with 8+ years of experience
Have built or led marketing for SaaS companies selling to SMB finance, accounting, or operations buyers
Can produce a strategy doc a founder can actually execute against — not a 40-page deck of frameworks
Understand that good strategy is mostly about saying no to the wrong things
Have opinions and are willing to push back when ours are wrong
Nice to have
Direct experience in marketing, accounting, ERP, fintech, or finance-adjacent software
Familiarity with how small businesses handle bank reconciliation today (and why they hate it)
Experience positioning horizontal SMB SaaS across multiple verticals A portfolio of strategy docs or roadmaps you've shipped for similar-stage companies
Logistics
Must be located in the United States
Independent contractor, project-based, fully remote
Budget: $1,500–$2,500, paid as a single project fee (50% upfront, 50% on delivery)
Timeline: 2–3 weeks from kickoff to final delivery
