Role Overview
We're looking for an Associate Principal Engineer, Data Architecture (Functional Architecture) to join our team. The role involves defining, implementing, and governing enterprise data architecture standards, policies, and frameworks across the assigned business domain. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Data Management, or related roles within the Financial Services industry.
What You Will Do
Define, implement, and govern enterprise data architecture standards, policies, and frameworks across the assigned business domain. Ensure data architecture artefacts, data products, and data deliveries comply with enterprise governance, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- 9+ years’ experience
- Strong experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Data Management, or related roles within the Financial Services industry
- Strong business domain expertise in one or more of the following: Risk, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Transaction Banking, or Capital Markets
- In-depth understanding of financial products, including Loans, Deposits, Bonds, Derivatives, Swaps, and Options
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks such as FINREP, ILAAP, CCR, STE, TTR, and other EMEA regulatory reporting requirements
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data architecture, governance frameworks, and target-state data architectures
- Demonstrated experience establishing governance operating models, architecture review forums, and enterprise data standards
- Strong expertise in enterprise data modelling and industry-standard data models such as FSLDM and BIRD
- Experience designing enterprise data flows, integration architectures, and cross-domain data solutions
- Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Hybrid Architectures, and AI/Agentic data ecosystems
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar cloud data platforms
- Experience using enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture tools including LeanIX, Ardoq, or equivalent platforms
- Experience evaluating and selecting enterprise data technologies and architecture tools
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data quality frameworks
