About The Role
As the Affiliate Marketing Lead for Process & Compliance, you will work within our Partnerships team, within the Growth Organization, to help us build a healthy, high-ROI affiliate program to support our goal of increasing awareness for Shopify and driving merchant growth through automation with affiliate marketing partners. You'll have the opportunity to design, create, and execute integrated governance processes and products at the partner and program level with the overall objective of supporting healthy customer acquisition.
This role does not have any direct reports, but works alongside a supporting team member. In this role, you would act as a leader/coach to that team member.
• Growth & Operations:
• Define a global operational strategy for driving affiliate program security, as well as scaling with localization.
• End-to-end ownership of the Impact platform integration, including any current or new implementations, signals, etc.
• Strong analytical skills; must be proficient in analyzing and interpreting data from third-party platforms (i.e. Impact Radius) and adapt to custom internal reporting tools.
• Report on monthly/quarterly affiliate program & compliance trends, sharing key insights with the senior leadership team
• Support experimentation and testing of new growth opportunities and initiatives
• Monitor channel and program performance ensuring all activity is tracking towards merchant acquisition and cost/customer targets.
• Program Governance:
• Assess current affiliate program compliance framework and tools, and propose recommendations for optimizations
• Manage and maintain internal databases & document systems, compliance tasks, audits, respond to queries, liaising with stakeholders
• Monitor affiliates for compliance of program terms, including affiliate fraud, PPC and content violations and manage remediation processes
• Understand the affiliate business models, needs and motivations of the various affiliate segments and develop solutions to support their applications and usage of tools.
• Support:
• Managing general Support plan for the affiliate program via broad communications on network updates and outages, as well as 1:1 inquiries escalated to the team.
• Serve as main point of escalation for affiliate support tickets.
• Identify opportunities to automate and/or streamline affiliate application review & processing.
• Provide coaching opportunities to help the team meet their growth objectives and intended outcomes
Qualifications
• +7 years of operations in digital marketing including performance marketing, influencer and affiliate marketing, and/or customer acquisition marketing
• Experience leading a SaaS affiliate channel with a proven track record for driving growth, controlling network quality, detailed contract reviews, and implementing customer service force for support
• Experience building, growing and leading a high performing affiliate/operations team
• Experience driving growth through experimentation and analysis, providing readouts and recommendations for operational efficiencies.
• Experience with stakeholder management working with cross functional growth teams like paid channels, lifecycle marketing, developers, engineers, designers, and data scientists
• Experience using an affiliate platform (preferred: Impact)
• The ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive, data-driven operational plans.
• Self-driven with a high degree of ownership and have strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and planning/project management skills.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a demonstrated capacity to balance speed and quality.
• Ability to influence cross functional teams and champion new concepts and ideas.
