The Account Executive II will drive net new business growth and expansion opportunities for ReadyAPI while consulting with customers on API testing strategies and managing sales opportunities across a defined territory.
Responsibilities
- Drive net new business growth and expansion opportunities for ReadyAPI, SmartBear’s industry-leading API testing platform
- Partner with development, QA, and DevOps teams to modernize API testing and accelerate software delivery
- Develop net new business relationships through inbound leads, outbound prospecting, and strategic account outreach
- Drive expansion opportunities within existing accounts by increasing adoption of ReadyAPI across engineering, QA, and DevOps organizations
- Consult with customers on API testing strategies, automation initiatives, and digital transformation efforts to position SmartBear solutions effectively
- Manage a mix of transactional and enterprise sales opportunities across a defined territory
- Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, managers, and executive decision-makers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product teams to drive customer success and revenue growth
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting within Salesforce and related sales tools
- Receive ongoing enablement, coaching, and professional development to accelerate career growth and long-term sales success
Skills
- 1–3 years of software sales experience, preferably selling into technical organizations or developer-focused environments
- Experience carrying a quota and consistently achieving KPIs or revenue targets
- Strong communication, discovery, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences
- A self-starter mindset with strong accountability and time management skills
- Interest in API technologies, software testing, DevOps, or developer tooling
- Experience using sales tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Salesforce, Outreach, or similar platforms
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
