Position Summary
The Office Associate is a critical staff position that serves as the primary administrative and fiscal support for both Educational Leadership and Teacher Education, enabling faculty to effectively carry out teaching, research, clinical, and service responsibilities. This role oversees daily operations across two departments, including departmental budgets, purchasing, human resources processes, faculty travel, UNO Courseleaf & Canvas that are essential to the academic mission.
The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for an office associate to provide complex and responsible administrative support to across two departments (Teacher Education and Educational Leadership). This position requires independent judgment; ability to prepare documents with minimal instruction; make decisions based on broad general guidelines related to day to day operations;
maintain and monitor department purchasing, personnel and student payroll records; coordinating travel, and TED / EDL department events, provide backup across CEHHS departments and other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Duties Administrative Support
Provide administrative support for 20 TED / EDL faculty members and 2 instructional coaches who teach traditional and distance education courses: issue permits, triage questions and create reporting documents as needed. Act as liaison with faculty, students, and other colleagues and departments; and produce faculty schedule of courses, maintain office hours for department. Work closely with department Chair(s) to process contracts and payroll documents for PT Adjunct faculty, fall, spring, summer, process new hire Adjuncts.

Textbooks & Department Purchasing
Coordinate textbook orders, student packets, and desk copy orders for traditional and distance education courses. Order and maintain inventory of departmental supplies; complete purchase requests as needed for supplies from outside vendors. Manage department purchasing, assess impacts on departmental budgets, report out to Chairs.
